The Cottage, Barn & Stable have land line BT telephones.  There are exterior mains water taps on the chimney wall of The Farmhouse, by the main entrance of The Stables & by the boiler room between The Barn & Valley View.

Smoke detectors are situated at strategic positions in all properties.  Fire extinguishers are by the fires & log burners & a fire blanket by all cookers. All are checked regularly. The boilers are serviced annually, the fire logs are dried & appropriately sized for safe burning & there is a cut off control of gas to the Rayburn in the Stable. All chimneys are cleaned annually.

IT IS ESSENTIAL TO REPORT A FIRE, HOWEVER MINOR TO THE MANAGERS IN THE GRANARY 01558-823874 OR MRS JONES AT DAN Y CEFN 01550-777448

These old properties are particularly vulnerable. Any fire would spread quickly. Every
precaution to avoid an accident must be taken.  We suggest: -

Avoid heating oil for chip making, choose oven-cooked chips as an alternative. Insure that the fires are safe prior to retiring or leaving the properties.  Use guards where provided, close log burners & let the logs burn down in the fire baskets. Candles provide a relaxing ambience but must be positioned centrally away from wall shelves. Caution must be taken with candles particularly with children. Extinguish
carefully.

IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE, HOWEVER MINOR, FIRST CLOSE ALL
WINDOWS & DOORS, VACATE THE PROPERTIES & DIAL 999 FOR FIRE
BRIGADE STATING THE POSITION AS THE MAERDY, TALIARIS SQUARE, 3
MILES ON B4302.
